It is better to try to clean your gloves than to just go out and buy a new one. That's a little frivolous.

  1. You a germaphobe??? Did you drop it in the mud??? You just use it 'till it gets a hole in it then toss it out and buy a new one. If recycling is the issue you can find tons at garage sales and Goodwill.

  2. Buying new gloves is not frivolous, it's just one of those regular expenses that you have to deal with as a golfer, just like balls and tees. Washing them in not practical. Try and squeeze as much use out of each one as you can if you want to save money.

I'm affraid you're stuck even leather cleaner and conditioner won't help. I know I've tried. What you can do though is find this stuff cheap on the internet.

  4. Water and a mild dish soap will often make them look better, but the problem is they shrink and get hard and crusty when they dry out.  Try the top of the line Cabretta leather gloves from MastGrip golf which I think is now MG golf.  They are about $14, but you get a second one free and they are of the highest quality.  Thus you won't feel so bad about just tossing one when it gets horrible looking.

  5. A good golf glove costs $12- $15.  Don't worry about it being dirty.  Unless you have a black glove that won't show dirt marks it is going to happen.  Just use the glove and when you need a new one, go buy it.  One glove should last 15-20 rounds, depending on the quality of the glove.

  6. It's kinda hard to clean your glove, other than wiping it off with a cloth or something, there's really not much you can do without ruining it.  You cannot get it wet, otherwise when it dries out, the leather becomes hard (unless it's a rain glove), so that rules out anything to do with water.

  7. as many have already told you.....one does not clean a golf glove.....one replaces it when worn out.

  8. Its not just that the glove is dirty, but the fact that the glove looses feel and it gets worn out.  For how cheap gloves are, its easier to just get a new one.

  9. The problem is the leather - so washing it dries it out.. makes it crunchy and also shrinks it.  But what you can do is just take some ajax and a wash cloth and clean it without getting it soaking wet.

  10. As other folks have said, cleaning leather with water makes it dry & brittle.

I replace mine when it gets so worn that a hole develops.  Even then, it isn't THAT dirty.
