  1. I take tae kwon doe,and I'd say my kicks.

  2. Well always stretch and practice and try to watch other fighters who are good at kicking and punching and see how they move which should give you some helpful ideas. And to increase your punching power spend lots of time learning how to throw your weist into your punch it will increase it's power sufficiently.

  3. Be sure to stretch all the time to prevent injury and get higher kicks. To build muscle and get stronger legs and arms try lifting weights, running, and eating lots of protein. Buy a punching bag for your basement or somewhere where you have space so you can practice accuracy. Try to do the kicks and punches slowly and accurately before going full power and full speed. Hope I helped! :)

  4. practice

  5. Make sure you know all the concepts behind a kick or punch.

    Posture, timing, reciprocal motion, etc...

One of the components is always lacking no matter how much you practice. It's just the way humans are made.

You may find you need more back strength or flexibility. Or it may be something that seems like it doesn't have much to do with striking but each part of the body relies on another part. You are only as strong or as fast as your weakest link. Literally.

Accuracy comes with practice done both fast and slow.

  6. Read "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do"  Bruce Lee has many methods for increasing the speed and power of punches and kicks.

As far as accuracy goes, that's just practice.  Put a dot on a bag and hit it slowly and standing still.  Then practice it faster.  Then move a little and try to hit it.  Then add a few more and work your way up to hitting them in various combinations and orders.  This may take months but it will be worth it.

  7. to gain speed you can do a few things:

-relax, your speed an power will increase if you learn to stop tensing up when you dont need to.

-practice your techniques slowly, kick as slow as you can and hold at the extension then retract slowly.

-use 2.5-5lbs hand weights while doing hand techniques, avoid jerky movements while using weights.

-work on retracting your punches and kicks as fast as your shooting them out, it will be harder for someone to catch your hands and your attacks will be more crisp

power comes with speed, so these will train both speed and power.

    to gain accuracy and control:

-start by learning the length of your limbs, go to a heavy bag and punch, your punch should land within half an inch but not actually hitting it, also do this with your kicks.

-once you know your length, try stopping your full power kicks and punches right before hitting the bag

-mark vital targets on your heavy bag, hit them over and over until your accuracy improves

those are just a few examples of how to improve your punches and kicks

  8. Practice, practice practice! There is a good reason for all the drilling that you do in your classes, it is to make them better (stronger, faster, more accurate) and to make them such a basic part of who and what you are that when you need them they come instinctively.

If you aren't seeing enough improvement from just your classes. First I say congratulations I consider that a good sign. To improve them though; you really just need to spend more time working on them. One of the first things I tell people when they tell me they want to improve their kicks is to start doing sets very slowly, this will help you develop more control and more strength as well as endurance. Doing any movement slowly takes 3 to 5 times the strength to do it quickly, and this is very evident when you start applying it to kicks.

Other methods for improvement would include; doing extra sets of drills, hitting focus mitts, working on a heavy bag, working a double ended bag or maybe even doing more sparring.

Lots of variables involved here and seeing as how none of us know you it is rather difficult for any of us to say much more than that. Just keep at it and give your all to every training session.

    Best of luck!
