  1. Sorry , But I don't mean to be rude or anything.... BUT if you do not know what you are doing ..... WHY ARE YOU BIDDING OUT WORK???

    But anyway you do have the general Idea... you need to know the total square footage of the job you are doing. How much paint you are going to use. Primer as well, all the prep work, scraping, sanding, patching, and all that jive. Also is this a 1 or 2 story house?

    Are you insured incase you s***w up and they sue you??

Yes, exactly right!  You have to go by the s/f, how much prep work has to be done, how many windows and trim that need to be painted (that takes longer) and, often, how high you have to go up on a ladder.  Things like that.  Also, make sure you know for sure if it needs one coat or two. Don't bid for one coat and then find it needs two.  Does it need to be primed first?  All those things.
