I recently changed my home phone number (land line). The new number previously belonged to someone who was being hounded by collection agencies. Now I am the one being hounded. The collections people (or as I refer them *&%$@*#'s) don't believe I am not the person they are looking for. I could change the number again, but I've just given it out to friends/family and on a whole bunch of job applications and resumes! The phone company says changing it is the only thing I can do. They have a way to block local calls but nothing out of the area. Has anyone dealt with this?
