Question:

How do you blow an amp??!!?

I hav a pyle 4000watt amp that has 2 18' subs with 1800 watts apeice.. Everything was hooked up right and one day i turned on my stero and my amp didnt even turn on the fuses are good, wires all hooked up right ... so what the h**l happend... please help lol

  1. its a pyle amp you should have expected this


  2. check your ground its the #1 forgoten thing

  3. vibration, from drilling/s******g/pounding, could cause a component within the amp to become disconnected.  for example the power supply contacts within the amp

  4. Check the fuses again. Were you looking at the main fuseblock of the car? Has the amplifier got a fuse of its own built into the casing? I suspect, by the way, that you have misread the spec of your amplifier. A 4 kilowatt electrical device on full song would take 333 amps out of your 12 volt battery (which of course would blow all the fuses anyway).

  5. Make sure that the ground is properly attached.
