  1. I would suggest starting by doing 50-50 to boardslide, that way you get the feeling down before trying to jump into a boardslide.

When you get on the rail, quickly turn your board to 90 degrees.  You HAVE to commit to the rotation, or else you will end up at 45 degrees.  It is a quick purposeful movement.

You need to be centered on the board.  I think of leaning forward a little bit, which counters my natural instinct to lean back, making me centered.

    Keep your knees bent!

Keep your front edge up a little so you don't catch up and eat it.

Look where you want to go, the end of the rail.  If you just look right in front of you, you will most likely end up bailing off the side.

You can break a snowboard by doing a boardslide, but you have to land pretty hard on it, so unless you are gapping to boardslide, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Good luck!

  2. It all depends on the board brand itself, but most major brandname snowboards are made to flex quite a bit. As for attempting a boardslide just make sure that your weight is on top of your board and not a certain side ,, or else you could slide off on either side...Good balance...and dont be scarred.!!!!have fun on the slopes....

  3. board sliding on a snowboard is just like board sliding on a skateboard and yes there is a posibility that it will break but it is very rare
