Hi

If you travel to many countries in your trip, say visit Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, will you book hotels in all of those destinations before departure or you just book in advance first hotels for Vietnam and then when you are in Vietnam, you will book for Laos and Cambodia ?

Thanks for help

  1. I would recommend booking as you go or a couple days in advance just for the fact of you may find a place you like and want to stay longer or vice versa you may want to leave and being a travel agent here i know the Vietnamese hotels are not keen on giving any money back ever if they can help it.

So i would recommend just looking a couple days ahead at the most as per concerning hotel booking on the other hand some place like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh this time of year is extremely busy so most of the nicer hotels are full all the time so maybe just to get your foot into the door look into booking a place to crash at first, but dont worry there is always a place to stay it just depends on how much time you want to spend looking around. :p

  2. no need.. i've never [been many times ] not be able to get a room [ even during TET].. you may want to book flights in advance.. i had to get a car/bus / train when i couldnt get get a flight FOR 9 DAYS!!!

  3. AS I travel I book accommodation from within the countries as this gives me much more flexibility. Happy traveling to you.

  4. if you go with the tour, they will book the hotel for you. If you go by your self, you can find hotels easy. Be carefully when you rent the hotel. Make sure those hotels having security and a lot customers.

  5. For me, I generally book hotels as i go. I find there's plenty of hotels in all the countries you mentioned, you just need to check if there's any public holidays/celebrations through out your travels, as hotels can fill up quickly (ie Tet in Vietnam - Jan-Feb).

It cn be a good idea to book your first nights accomodation, especially if you arrive late at night, this will save you having to wonder the streets of an unknown city !

It can also be cheaper booking as you go, although if you prefer upmarket hotels, it can actually be cheaper to pre-book online!

    Enjoy your travels!

  6. I would book everything before I leave home. Depends on what you do on your trip and how long your stay. If you don't have time frame, then you can book as you go like you mention. Sometimes you can save by doing so and you are not pushed for time. But if you want everything in order then maybe it is better to organize everything and all you do when you go for your holiday is relax.
