Question:

How do you break down the walls around yourself?

When I look in the mirror, I see a girl with solid cold stare, a frown implanted on her lips. No matter what she does, she's 'en-guarde' and can't find herself anymore. Her smile is fake, her lies soothe your soul. Can she become herself, can she find that light again?

  1. You must use the "sledgehammer of love", if you want to break down those walls.

  2. Do what i do. Watch anime. :)) I dunno. it makes me happy. Anyway. that's a really nice poetic question. Literally speaking... you can break walls using ki energy. :|

  3. You give a fine description of your behavior. That is important.

There are no walls to break down. You want to behave differently.

You have developed/ chosen/ needed a set of behaviors to defend yourself against pressures around you and to defend yourself against your own feelings. They have been more or less effective.

They are are also in part obsolete. To go on with those behaviors looks like using an umbrella, when it stopped raining long ago.

To break free from ingrained behavior patterns, may take some time.

Do things differently where you can. Maybe  in the privacy of your own home and in the privacy of your own diary or with a friend.

A well chosen therapist or therapy group can be a great help to learn to open up and to become aware of what you are doing with yourself and to learn to act in new ways.

Reading self help books like Susan Campbell: Getting real or  texts about self development on the internet like

    "living with teenagers": www.human-inquiry.com/lwta.htm

    can be stimulating.

On www.stumbleupon.com you find good preselected articles about psychology and self development.

A very fast effective method to change mental blocks and hang ups that can be self applied is Emotional Freedom Technique EFT ; www.emofree.com and check YouTube and your bookstore too.

EFT practitioners are becoming more and more available, some are excellent.

So believe in change. Love yourself for choosing to defend and block yourself in the past: that was the best you could do at the time. Love yourself for wanting to change. Take steps. Small steps are o.k.Showing obsolete behavior once in a while is also o.k.

"Walls" is just an image; you can do things differently step by step.
