rather how do you keep all 8 pieces standing at the same time perfectly level while one continuos bead of silicone is ran? are there custom made brackets used for this? because from my understanding the silicone has to be set as one bead so the idea of setting each piece of glass one at a time letting them dry is out of the question

  1. you first have to glue the glass together . the sylacone stops leaks but wont hold it together. take works well to make the corners. like masking tape and to get it sqare at the corners or triangle ues a carpenter square. or the corner of a wall on a counter top.

  2. I would suggest you build your hex shaped frame bottom & top first if you have not already done so. They have the channel I am sure you are aware that the glass can sit in.

From what I have seen a HEX shaped glass aquarium would be an ADVANCED skill level item. May I suggest acrylic which would be less prone to rupture or leaks and be easier to work with for a hex aquarium.

If you decide to go with glass you can single bead all the sides together then put the hexagon onto the glass base in your frame and single bead the base to the sides since the sides are cured. I may be wrong but I have had no problem with my tanks cutting out & caulking one side at a time.

    Good Luck
