If you have to ask this, your best bet is to hire a bricklayer.  First you need to have a level concrete footing.  Then you will want to have a "tender" working with you.  The tender makes sure you have mortar on your board and block within reach.  Depending on how high the wall will be, you may need scaffolding.  Every third course must be reinforced with Durawall, a wire mesh.  Some cells must be filled as needed with mortar and rebar for strength.  A masonry contractor will come in and build this wall in no time.  It will be done correctly, with a guarantee to back it up.  Hope this helps.

Pour a footing. Put a 2by4 on top and leave rebar protruding,4" on center . Stack bricks with mortar. Fill later as desired.
