How do you build a model boat that can float?

outa what? I can make a peper boat that will float, but its kinda limited, plastic is best! Or a raft, thats simpiler!

you will have to make sure the hull is water tight and probable have to add weight in the bottom of the hull (ballast) to keep it upright.

You can go to the American Model Yacht Associtaion website ( http://modelyacht.org/ ) and look at the many different plans they have for many different classes of r/c sailboats.  The STAR45 seems to be a fairly easy boat to build.  I would suggest you do some snooping around the AMYA website and see if that doesnt help you.  Good luck!
