  1. What I would do is buy a bookshelf either at target or a thrift store--somewhere cheap. The larger the bookshelf the better so that the tortoise can grow into it, and you can even shut off sections with the shelving that will be included while the tortoise is small. You can then lay the bookshelf on its back, remove the shelving and fill it with substrate. Be careful though because bookshelves that you buy new often have flimsy veneer or fake wood that is almost like cardboard. This wont be able to hold a lot of weight if you need  to move it--and will fall out with any moisture. Another option is to buy a plastic underbed sweaterbox and fill it with substrate, but you must make sure to cover up the clear sides or else the tortoise will never stop trying to dig out. Also, lighting is important--you must have both UVA and UVB in your light sources. I recommend a fluorescent tube light which simulates sunlight, and a heat bulb which provides most of the heat for the enclosure. Search on google for sulcata caresheets, you'll find plenty. Here's one to get you started. http://www.chelonia.org/articles/sulcata...
