Question:

How do you burn several recorded shows to a single DVD?

We often burn shows to a single DVD that we have DVR'd from the TV. We then have to "finalize" as the last step in the process.

My question is: If I have multiple shows (like a 3-4 segment PBS series or 8 old Twilight Zones) how can I get them all on a single disc? How to set it (ours gives the option of 2, 3, 4 and 6 hours), when to finalize it, etc.

I told my husband I was pretty confident someone out here in Yahoo land knows how to do this--so thanks a lot for your help!

Is it a matter of a different kind of DVD?

We really appreciate your help

  1. DVD discs are a collection of .VOB files; however you also need an index file to navigate the disc.

Most DVD authoring programs should allow you to combine .VOB files in one disc and then when you finalize it, create the index.

If you have Vista you should be able to create a new DVD using movie maker. Just import the .vob files from the DVDs and then create a new DVD.
