How do you bus from Brighton, Boston to NY?

I'm not very familiar with American streets, cities and states since I'm Canadian but I'm currently staying in Boston for a few days with my family for a little trip. We're considering to go shopping in NY for many a day or more but we might not have a car to drive us there.

How do we bus or go on a train to New York?

Amtrak has numerous trains that run between Boston and NYC.  The trip takes around 4 hours and is about $90 one way.  Check out amtrak.com for more info.
