How do you buy a sunday saver melbourne metcard ticket if the ticket office is empty?

As i understand it, the automatic ticket machines won't issue the Sunday saver ($2.90) tickets only the zone 1 daily tickets ($6.50).

I am very new to Melbourne and would like to know how you do this from a non-manned station (Yarraville) on sundays.

Pre-purchase them. You don't need a station to be manned because you get them from a machine anyway.
