  1. You cannot buy a webaddress that is already in use.

  2. go to domainname.com and enter the URL that you wish to purchase. The contact information for the person that owns that URL will appear. Call or send an email and simply let the individual know of your wishes. Hopefully, they will sale it to you, good luck.

  3. Well you can get it buy purchasing backorder.  When the domain is up and the person who currently owns it doesn't register you can get it.

    Backorder you can get at www.NeedAWebDomain.com

    Or you can contact the owner of the website using a whois lookup.   whois.domaintools.com   and then enter the domain name.

    or you can check auction sites like     sedo.com to see if its listed.  Most likely then the price will be higher then if you would purchase a domain at any price.

    And then there is the fact if you own rights to the name.  If you feel the domain name infringes and misleads consumers about your product.  Its a very hard battle.  But you might be able to get the domain in 'small claims court'.  Which im guessing is not really the case - but just a heads up.

  4. getdotted.com it is great!

    e.g i want a website called "cheese in a cup"

    I could get;

    cheeseinacup.com

    cheeseinacup.co.uk

    cheeseinacup.com.au

    cheeseinacup.me.co.uk

    etc!

  5. Make the current owner an offer.  Do a whois lookup on the domain name to find admin details.

  6. register.com

  7. I worked for a company who always used bigdaddy.com.
