How do you buy stuff at amazon.com?

i have a credit card with a small ($500.00) limit on it, so if anyone does anything illegal with the card, the damage is limited. it also limits my spending!

i look at the reviews. if an itm has a bazillion reviews, i'll check out a few of the lowest ratings first, then work my way up, to get a feel of what the pluses and minuses are, and to see if the ratings a realistic or not - ie, i would disregard a bunch of low ratings because it only comes in one color, or high ratings from everyone, but they've only had it for one day and haven't given it time to be truly field tested.

i usually stay away from things averaging 3 stars or less, unless it is something i know will suit my specific purposes.

i tend to only get things that have free shipping and try to batch the shipment(s) together.

i also make sure i can't get it cheaper locally or off of ebay before i but it there...
