How do you bypass the safety switches on a murray riding mower 12.5 B&S engine. There are three of them?

Are they grounds or are they just open.

  1. These safety's are in place for good reasons, However if you are trying to see what is wrong;

    1 safety is under the seat. When you sit down it  opens, it is 2 small aluminum pieces of 1/4 inch wide. Spread them to always  be open. 1 safety is contacted or pressed when the deck is in its highest position where the blades will be disengaged. A jumper can be placed in the wires to open that circuit. The 3rd is in the clutch/brake pedal, again it can be jumped or adjusted to be depressed when the brake pedal is depressed.

  3. I'm not going to tell you how to bypass a safety feature. But a switch either is normally open or normally closed until operated; at which time it changes state.Do you know what an ohm or multimeter is?
