  1. You divide the number by the percentage; say, if  30% of a total is 1,509,000, you divide1,509,000 by 30/100 and get 5,030,000

  2. divide the percantage total by the %number...for example

    1,509,000/0.30

  3.   30 = 1509000

    100 = X

    1509000x100=30X

    X=150900000:30

    X=5030000

    100% = 5030000

  4. create a ratio

    30/100 = 1509000/X

    100 X 1509000 divided by 30 = X

  5. Intuitively you can do this one in your head.

    5 is 2% of what?  We now that 2% times 50 is 100%.  Multiply the known percentage by the supplimentary fraction.

    5 times 50 is 250.

    Here is another example.

    7 is 14% of what number?

    7 is to 14 as what is to 100? The equation is 7 times 100 divided by 14.

    700/14 is 50.

  6. Since percentages are always out of hundred, i.e 30% would be 30/100,  s0 when calculating a numbers percentage the formula would be

    (1509000/30 )*100

  7. U divide 1509000 by 30% to get 5030000
