Question:

How do you calculate cost per credit hour?

The university I applied to said that the cost per credit hour is $1,070. What is it exactly? Does it mean that I have to pay for every course I pick? Is it already calculated in the tuition, or do i pay it seperately?

I assume it has to do with the courses I pick?

Do I pay the tuition to go to this school, and then pay the cost per credit hour depending on the courses i pick?

(The tuition is around $47,000 and if i have to pay this "cost per credit hour" along with the tuition it is going to be very, VERY expensive...h**l, it is already very expensive T.T )

  1. that 1070 you are paying per credit hour is part of your calculated tuition.  If you take 12 credits per semester multiply that times 1070 plus library fees, computer fees, lab fees, facility fees, room an board, meals, all that is part of tuition.

  2. The $1,070 per credit hour is the tuition.  Most classes are 3 credit hours, and 15 credit hours is the average per semester, so that comes out to $32,100 per year.  Add fees and other costs to that and there's your $47,000.

  3. 12 credit hours per semester times 1,070 = 12,840 times 2 semesters = 25,680 plus fees, books, etc.

I know this isn't Harvard you are talking about... because they are cheaper!!

Go to a real school.  This is either a private college or a for-profit on line school.  And if you are having to borrow this much per year you can't afford it.

Community colleges "Cost Per Credit Hour" is often about $60.00  Much more realistic!
