  1. It depends on the time duration.

Daily=Diurnal difference between max and min in a 24 hr period commencing at 0900 on any given day

Could be weekly, seasonal, monthly or annual differences between the max and min in the given time frame.. It is essential that the time duration be defined in the question.

  2. 1. Diurnal (Daily) range of temperature

The difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures of any one day, thus it calculated by:

    Maximum temperature – Minimum temperature

    --------------------------------------...

    2. Average (mean) daily temperature

This can be calculated in two ways:-

    a. The average of the maximum and minimum temperature over a period of 24 hours, so it is calculated by:

    (Maximum temperature + Minimum temperature)/2

    b. The average of the hourly temperatures over a period of 24 hours, so it is calculated by:

    Total of hourly temperatures/24

    --------------------------------------...

    3. Mean monthly temperature

The average of the mean daily temperatures for a month, so it is calculated by:

Total of mean daily temperatures for the month/

number of days in the month

    --------------------------------------...

    4. Annual temperature range

The difference between the highest mean monthly temperature and the lowest mean monthly temperature, so it is calculated by:

    Highest mean monthly temperature –

    Lowest mean monthly temperature

    --------------------------------------...

    5. Mean annual temperature

The average of mean monthly temperatures of the 12 months in a particular year, so it is calculated by:

Total of 12 mean monthly temperatures of that year/12
