  1. It would help if you clarified your question.

    Most vegetable biomass consists largely of carbohydrates, which have energy of about 4 kilocalories per gram.  Vegetable oils are more energetic, at about 9 kilocalories per gram.  A given flow of oil would have more energy than the same flow of e.g. dry wood or grass.
