You pick up the phone, and push those little buttons with numbers on them.  When someone says, "Hello?" you say, "May I please speak to (insert name here)."  If you know the person who said hello, it would be polite to say something to him first.  "Hello (insert name).  How are you today?"  Then go on to ask for the one you were calling.

That's how to do for people with any kind of nose.
