How do you call long distance (Australia) on a house phone?

Ok... Well my friend from Australia wants me to call him but I broke my phone and I need to call from a house line. But I dont know how to put the + infront of the number to be able to call him with the house phone... Does anyone know how? PS. I've done this before I just forgot.

  1. You do not dial the +

    The + symbol only indicates that IF you are dialing long distance from another country other than the country you are calling to, then you need to "preface" the country code with the IDD code (International Direct Dial code).

    If you are dialing Australia from USA or Canada, the IDD code is 011.

    Then the country code for Australia is 61,

    Thus, begin you call with 011 61 followed by the destination number, including area code.
