  1. some calling cards are made specifically for certain countries.  those made for nicaragua for example may have better rates AKA will allow you to talk longer..  i call el salvador lots.....5 dollars gets me over an hour.  go to a store that sells mexican or latin american items and buy a card there.

call the number listed on the card.....then dial the secret code number you rubbed off with a dime.....THEN

first dial 011 then the country code 505 and the number you have....the codes for central america go in order...from 501 downward to 507....nicaragua is 505.

if the number seems long, it could be because your friend gave you the country code and a city code to call....so the number may not be only 7 digits like here.

    +500 – Falkland Islands

    +501 – Belize

    +502 – Guatemala

    +503 – El Salvador

    +504 – Honduras

    +505 – Nicaragua

    +506 – Costa Rica

    +507 – Panama

    +508 – Saint-Pierre and Miquelon

    +509 – Haiti

    good luck

  2. HI

first you need to know the country code, area code and number you want to call.

look in your local phone book or google international/country phone codes to find the correct one for Nicaragua

then, on the back of the calling card will be instructions for getting through to an international line.

once you dial the number to connect your card, then just dial the international # you want.

most phone cards have the instructions on the back, then all you need to know is the country code.

    good luck  =)
