  1. Just know that everyone in your class wants you to do well.  If you can, try to talk to a few people ahead of time to tell them what you are going to talk about.

Definitely try it out at home by yourself before class.  If you can, go to the room before class when it's empty and spend a minute and imagine getting through it all the way without any problems.

Try not to say um, or "you know".

I think making eye contact is really good but if you are shy, hold off on that until you have more confidence.  Believe in your message (and yourself) and you'll do great.

    Good luck!

  2. If you're allowed, bring notecards to help keep you on track. Or outline your presentation beforehand and go over your main points.

Practice giving your presentation, both by yourself and with others. They can help tell you if you stumbled, or talked too fast, etc. Tomorrow, don't pay attention to the guy in the class; if you're thinking about him, you'll be distracted.

  3. One thing that really helped me through school with the anxiety of talking in public is to look around the room, but look at their foreheads or their clothing.  Just don't make eye contact.  If you are looking around the top of the room or the floor, they will notice and this is bad if body/eye communication is part of your grade.  I would walk around your room in circles talking yourself through your presentation so you are more confident with it then if you do happen to make eye contact you won't completely lose your place.  And, don't look at the hot guy at all!!!  Smile at him in the end or something.  Just remember, everyone else in the class is probably more nervous than you.  I used to be one the super scared people in class.  Since, I have taught college, held training classes for real estate agents to learn their MLS, and worked with elementary school kids.  I am also a council member for our county's 4-H club where I hold the office of Treasurer.  I get up in front of people all the time and am still scared a little.  I find that making a joke, and then when introducing myself I tell them one thing about me that may be interesting to them.  Then I start to calm down.  Sometimes just making them laugh before I'm serious helps me a lot.  Good luck and I know you can do it!
