Question:

How do you capture flash videos off websites?

I find it easiest to learn things by looking at pro examples. So awhile ago, when I was into Flash, I used a program called Sothink to capture flash games off of websites so I could look at the code.

However, now whenever I try to capture a game it downloads fine, but when I try to open the flash, it's just the loader flashing over and over again.

What do I do to get the actual .swf?

  1. Download FLV Downloader...

    OR

    Orbit Downloader

    OR

    BitComet FLV Downloader

  2. Very simple ..you need NO software at ALL

    1) go to a website ..example: http://www.gasakism.net/games/scarlet/in...

    2) go to the top and choose: Tools, Page Info and then click the Media tab

look for a file that has .swf in it..these change .. but look for a file that has the name of your file and the swf ..sometimes there are ads in swf format ..ignore those ..in this case you see scarlet.swf?idioma=1

    3) Highlight this file and copy the address: scarlet.swf?idioma=1

most of the time ..all you have to do is replace the last bit of the address you are already at with the swf file for example ..change

    http://www.gasakism.net/games/scarlet/in...

    http://www.gasakism.net/games/scarlet/sc...

Go there and make sure it is workin ..again go to the page info...

Now under the media tab you will see the full address of the swf file

then all you have to do is save the file

If you havent already (once you down load the file) right click it and choose to open the file with your internet browser (preferably firefox) set it to always open with firefox and you will be all set.

It may sound complicated but its really not if you have any questions you can msg me on yahoo and i will try to help
