Thanks Love Light and Peace :)

  1. Hi:

Cactus love the sun, heat and as the first answer said, very little water. I have grown cactus from seeds, and they are slow growers. Cactus prefer sandy soil, so you could mix some sand in with the potting soil. Make sure you have a good quality light weight potting soil. This is important for the cactus specie. You can test the soil for dryness, by ticking your finger down in the dirt. The top surface of the soil will dry first. If your soil is dry below the surface, it is dry and should be watered. I just transplanted two mature cactus out into a garden, and they don't require much water at all. I let nature water them, and we are in a drought.

I hope this helps you some. I will link you to the site map of my website. There are many articles, tips and techniques that may give you added information. Good luck with your new cactus plant and have a great day!
