I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 mollies, 3 cories, 1 dwarf gourami, and maybe 4 or 5 glofish, if they would be okay in my tank. How big do glofish get? Do they need extra care? Food? Temperature? Please help!

  1. Uh oh.. Your tank is WAY too full. The rule of thumb is 1 inch per gallon and you've already passed that. I mean, I guess they will live but they won't have enough space to swim/move. So keep it the way it is and do NOT add glofish. Most tropical fish are schooling fish so they need at least 5 other companions. Also, tropical fish need a heater. You can buy this at walmart or petsmart. They can eat flakes, brine shrimp, etc. Anyway, enjoy your tank and next time remember the rule above. Good luck!

  2. You are pretty stuffed in in that tank. Mollies get quite large, especially if you have a sailfin hybrid, as do corys presuming you have the common bronze/albino variety.

Glofish are Zebra Danios, exact same care as Danios and too active for a 10 gallon. For 4-5 of these fish you really need a nice long 20 gallon at least, they need a lot of room to swim.

  3. Hello,

Your tank is already overstocked as it is. I would not add the glofish to that tank.

I recommend you upgrade to a 20g or a 36g and then you can get more fish.

Glofish get to be about 2 inches long and they are schooling fish, so it is best to get at least 6-8 of them. The food and temp requirements are the same as the other fish you have in that tank.

Please upgrade your tank before you get anymore fish!

    Good luck!

  4. dude to many fish.you might want to get a 30 gallon tank then buy da glowfish.i know cuz i raise fish.

  5. Don't add the glofish. They are very easy to take care of and would go well in your tank, but you are pretty well stocked with the mollies, cories and the gourami.
