  1. You cannot capture a hummingbird...they are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.  Having one in your possession or even harming or harassing one can get you fined or jailed.  Hummingbirds are extremely had to keep alive..their main diet consists of live insects, and they need to eat constantly due to their high metabolism.  They are not even kept by zoos due to being very difficult to care for.  If you want a pet bird..go to a pet store a purchase a bird that was bred to be a pet, and leave wild birds alone.

  2. yes it's illegal!! they are a wild animal not a pet!!! but try buying a bird that'll stay close to you and is just as colorful like a love bird.

  3. I have no idea if it's legal or not, but if it is legal, it shouldn't be.  Why would you want to do that to the poor bird?  Do you not see how quickly his wings flutter?  Do you think he wants to live out his life is your HOUSE?  I don't think so.  Don't be selfish.  Go buy a parakeet.

  4. you will surely not care for it properly if you do catch it and yes in most places it is indeed illegal...

  5. ALL BIRDS ARE GENERALLY WILD no bird wants to live in a someones house in a cage or in a store!!!!!

  6. Yes, it's illegal. If if it wasn't, think about it, it would be wild and there is no way you could play with it or have it step up onto your finger so what would the point be? All you could was stare at it, plus it probably wouldn't survive in captivity. If you want a bird do some research and get one from a pet store or rescue center.

  7. All humming birds are Federally protected, why would you want one anyway, it would only die in a day or two, take a picture of one instead.

  8. that's stupid thing to do!! i don't know if they are illegal but they are wild. i think its impossible to catch them they are very fast. leave them alone they are like nature birds.
