How do you catch a mouse in your house?

A few hours ago, I saw a field mouse in the bathroom and tried to catch it with a hand towel but it scooted away and its in my house but i cant find it. I want to catch it but I dont want to hurt it so I can set it free outside, but I also don't want it to get into my things and food so I want to catch it quickly by myself, so no exterminators.

I had a mouse in my car once and i was told take and put out the little black or green gum drops(the one you get packs of 2 for $1), depending if using mouse traps or not.  I had it caught within one day.

your not going to catch him, get a exterminator before it breeds and it has a million babies
