when they are on something or on the grass, cuff your hands on top of them and make sure you know where it is under your hand, then your grab it litley to make sure the wings dont get mest up and you dont get all this powdery stuff on your hand unless you wanna kill it, use a fly swatter

Fly paper, comes in a roll and is very sticky when you unwind it.  Hang  it near a light source and they'll land on it and die.

well if you want to catch and release sit in a place with a light by you turn all other lights off and wait use your hands or a net to safley capture them wothout harming yourself or the moth... if you would like to catch and kill i would go with the light and fly swatter !
