How do you change a cd player in a 1997 mitsubishi galant

while changing from the stock cd player in my 1997 mitsubishi galant es, we wound up have the clock reset every time we turn off the car

Sounds like you switched the constant 12v and the accessory wire around. I would double check the wiring.
