  1. First you have to have the Salt System installed. It consists of a control box and a cell that is plumbed into the return side of your pools filter system. Then you need to add the salt directly to the pool. Usually somewhere between 300 to 500 pounds depending on the size of the pool and the system you purchase. It is not always necessary to drain the pool but if the water has not been changed for 4 or more years then I would recommend it. That's all there is to it. Remember you still have to pay very close attention to all of your chemical levels in the pool such as   PH,  Alkalinity, Conditioner etc...

and you will still need to add acid to adjust.

  2. It's very simple.  Just hook the salt water system up to your existing filter, add the correct amount of salt and program the number of hours for the system to run according to your manual for your size pool.   We love ours!

  3. drain it.

    clean it out.

    drain it again

    then replace it with salt.

    It is worth it!
