How do you change a door gasket on a fridge?

  1. Open the door and pull back the gasket.

    You should see some screws, remove them all the way around  


  2. Gizmoe is correct, as far as he goes, when you get the screws all out, the inner shell of the door will come out.  The gasket is either attached to it or slipped over the edge of it.  If this fridge is very old, you may find that the door gasket isn't even available any more.  I've tried to get them for some units recently and been disappointed to find that many are NLA.

    My Fridigaire has a magnetic strip around the door. It started leakin from age and I simply peeled it off and replaced it with an OEM strip...too easy
