  1. Disconnect the battery first. You will need a good jack and two jack stands.The two rear tires need to be removed and the frame of the car needs supported on jack stands. Then use plenty of penetrating oil on the gas tank straps. The drive shaft needs to be removed before the straps are loosened. Once the straps are unbolted the tank should be able to be dropped. There is an outer ring that needs to be removed. Also unplug the connector to the tank. After the electrical connection is removed and the ring is off the the fuel pump should be able to be removed. Please be very careful, this is not a task to be undertaken lightly.
