How do you change a timing belt on a Nissan 300zx..?

  2. If your going to do that, then you might as well do the 60k maintaince. You have to remove all the same parts to get to the timing belt. Even if you decided to have a mech do it, they will tell you the same thing because there is no extra charge to replace water pump, thermostat, cam seals. Please take it to some one who knows what to look for and can warranty the repair for a Year. 1990 to 1996 Z cars are complicated and not always clear as to what you want to do to make the next timing cover removal 60,000 miles away. Forget to replace cam seals leak oil onto your new belt BAD NEWS. Dont replace the water pump BAD NEWS
