How do you change an item so its buy it now on ebay?

if someone has already bid for it and you want to add the buy it now option i have tried but it wont let me write in the specified area you cant click in to it. if so is there another way selling an item instantly instead of having to wait for bidding etc?

Yes, that is true.  Once you have 1 bid, OR there is less than 12 hours left on the auction, it WILL NOT let you add a buy it now.  

But when you list an item you do have the option to put a buy it now along with the auction. Example - lets say you are selling something and starting the bid at 9.99, well you can also do the BIN for $12.99 - for anyone who would rather pay a few extra dollars and not have to wait or bid against other people.  KEEP in MIND though - if you start that bid at 9.99, and someone comes in and bids 9.99, it takes off the BIN of $12.99 - and in that case, you wasted your extra 10 cents.
