How do you change pockets for the eight ball in pool?

take ur cue and point at the pocket and say 8 ball (side or corner) pocket.  at least that is how we always change pockets for calling shots on the 8 ball where we play

Put your marker on the other pocket if you change your mind.  it is always better to mark the pocket in 8 ball so the opponent can't say you didn't call the pocket you made the 8 ball in.
