i have a nikon D40 and i needed to know how to change RAW files to normal files on my camera. anyone know how to?

  1. You don't do it on your camera.  You do it in software after you've downloaded them to your computer.

    Your camera probably came with software with limited capabilities.  Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop Elements can handle RAW files (sometimes a plug-in is required).  

    Picasa also seems to be able to handle most RAW formats, and it's free.  You can then export them from Picasa to JPEG (JPG) images.

    EDIT:

    If you don't want to shoot in RAW anymore, you'll have to find the menu option for choosing image quality and format.


  2. Cant change it on your camera i have the exact same camera as you... you have to do it in photoshop...

  3. Look on your cameras menu for the feature called "Image Quality" and choose JPEG Fine.  That will produce high quality images without having to convert RAW files into high quality JPEGs using a photo program ... like Nikon NX or Photoshop CS2 or CS3
