I'm using Gimp, and I have this image that I want to upload to photobucket, but it doesn't work because it's in the .xcf format, and not the accepted gif, jpg, jpeg, png, or bmp formats. My operating system is Ubuntu. How do I change the format of my image so that I can put it on PhotoBucket?

  1. *.xcf is gimp default format, you would open image and select "save as" then select jpg from drop down menu, if image is animated layers, then you would test filters/ animation play first, then save as gif export,
