WHen you are choosing your hairstyles, there will be some different colors beside them.

On Y! homepage go to "Other Services" and click on Avatars. There you can change your avatar. Hope it helped.

When editing your avatar you'll be able to modify different aspects such as apparel, background, etc.  In the appearance label you'll see a sub-label named "hair style", when you choose the hairdo, aside the sample you'll see about four or five smaller squares in different colors, those are your options to color your avatar's hair.

Go to http://avatars.yahoo.com/ , log in , click on ...Appearance ..hair styles and choose which one you like .
