How do you change the hand tool in photo-shop CS3?

I just got photoshop. I want to use the brush tool but when I click on it, the cursor stays a hand. What do I have to do to change it?

This happens to me also just hit the space bar like kaiy2k said.

That is not normal. You can, (or should be able to), select the brush tool by pressing B on your keyboard. If doing that still does not get rid of the hand tool, I don't know what your problem could be, except perhaps as said before, your space bar is sticking somehow.

Have you tried setting all Photoshop back to default settings? I am not sure of the procedure to do it, but I know there is a way. It should be in the help menu.

If all else fails, try getting in touch with Adobe or checking the website for troubleshooting issues.

The hand tool usually only appears when you hold down the space bar. Could your keyboard spacebar key be sticking?
