  1. The left hand grip is usually glued on the handle bar. A sharp box cutter usually removes that one fairly quickly. Then the new one slides on the end of the bar with new glue placed on the handle bar.

The throttle cables are connected to the right hand grip. Usually a new set of grips has fairly easy instructions.

I have replaced 2 pairs of Kuryakyn grips on 2 different brands of cycles and neither was very difficult.

  2. Ok, well cut the old ones off with a sharp knife.

Clean the handlebars up with some petrol and a rag, as the old ones may have been glued on.

Now, as for installing, you have a few options.

    You can either

A)soak the grips in a bucket of boiling water for a few minutes. Be sure to wear gloves because they will be hot and you will need to fiddle with them to fit them on.

B)buy some spray from the bike shop, specifically for this purpose. Squirt it inside the grips and wind them on.

I have installed many grips and only ever used a bucket of hot water, and occasionally rubbed a bit of soap on the grip as well

Obviously, make sure you put the grip with the larger hole on the throttle tube.

  3. do what cm punk said, but also don't forget to inpsect the throttle tube. now would be a good time to see if potential or in progress cracking exists.

  4. there ar ea couple of ways.... depending on if you want the grips in tact or not.... (i'm assuming you mean getting them off, cuz getting them on is pretty self explanatory)

if you got new grips, just cut the old ones off and save yourself the time and aggervation....

if you need the grips intact, just start pulling on it... hard, depending on the type of material it's made out of it will either constrict a bit and start moving off SLIGHTLY, if they're really stretchy you can kinda fold it out on it'sself... hard to explain... but much easier then the afore mentioned type.
