How do you change the size of a jpeg image?

how do you change the size of an existing image on your computer. when submitting images to sites often my pixel size is too large and i do not know how to change it. also when i email photos to people they receive them too large (is that the same thing?)

i know image suffers when changing pixels but sometimes that can't be helped. also when you do change pixel size to submit image does it stay that size after you send? thank you very much for help

  1. you can use microsoft picture manage

    Start>microsoft office>microsoft office tools>microsoft picture manager

    then you go to picture on the menu bar and select crop

    you can select your size

    or use photofiltre


  2. get the ACDSee software.open the picture ---select  Modify>Resize and select the pixels in the right hand pane .---then save the picture.

  3. Open the image with word, this way the quality will be same and you can re-size you're image :D

  4. I'm not aware of any program that changes the file size of a jpeg file. What is most likely happening is your jpegs are high resolution and therefore large in size. When you attach the file to an email, it may exceed the allowable file attachment size. I suggest a way around this is to create a new file by inserting the jpeg onto a Word page. You can resize it and then save it as a Word document, which is smaller in size than the jpeg. Then attach the Word file to you email. You can't do this if you are sending the files for reprint as photos.
