I already have 1600 points to spend. Just too lazy to flip around the screens to see where to actually go to get it done.

  1. Changing a gamertag costs a whopping 800 Microsoft Points (as opposed to changing an offline profile, which you doesn't cost anything).

To change the name of your Xbox LIVE gamertag...

    1. Sign in to Xbox LIVE with the profile whose gamertag you want to change and select your gamer profile in the Xbox Dashboard.

    2. Select Edit Profile, Gamertag.

    3. From the Edit Gamertag screen, select Continue to proceed to the Enter Gamertag screen.

    4. Enter an alternate gamertag and select Done.

    5. From the Edit Gamertag screen, review your Microsoft Points balance and choose from these options:

Select Confirm to complete your gamertag change and start gaming. Xbox LIVE will automatically deduct 800 Microsoft Points from your balance

    - or -

Select Redeem Prepaid Card to add points to your membership using a prepaid card.

    6. Select Cancel to return to the Enter Gamertag screen. From here you can modify the new gamertag you're requesting (see Step 4) or press Back (B) to return to the Xbox Dashboard.

  2. you can click on your gamercard, and then choose Edit Profile, and then Gamertag, then it well tell you you have to pay the 800 microsoft points

  3. Sorry Mate, You Cant Change Youre Gamertag - since It Would Cause Too Much Confusiong With The Network, Like Youre Friends Wouldnt Recongnise You Anymore, The Network would Have to Change Everything.. Sorry About That

  4. There is a different way, if your gamer tag gets reported 15+ times, xbox MAKE you change your tag, no charge.

This may be a bit sneeky but it's ok, as for just finding it, just look for things you might think lead to it, not too hard.
