They charge you to check in at the airport, but I hear you can check-in online for free, but I'm unsure how this works. How long before the flight can i do this?

  1. You go to www.ryanair.com, and click on "online checkin" near the upper left.

  2. You can check in online if you only have carry-on luggage. You then go to Ryanair's website and go to "check-in online" in the top left corner and just follow the instructions. You need to have your passport number available.

I think you are allowed to check in online from 48 hours before the flight. Not sure about this.

When you have checked in online you will then get  your boarding card on the screen which you will have to print. Bring it to the airport and you can walk straight to the security check. You do not have to go to the check-in desk.

If you forget the boarding card or cannot print it you will have to check in as normal and pay the check in fee

  3. On their website.

  4. if your checking in a bag to the hold you cannot do it. i used to live in italy and was always back and forth to england on ryanair. if i remember rightly you can do it either a day or 2 in advence but from experience i'd just check in at the airport, it only costs a couple of pounds and saves a lot of worry. you always end up quing to check everythings alright with the online booking in anyway x x
