How do you check to see if your firewall is blocking something?

my lime wire isn't working, its saying it's not connected and someone told me to check to see if the firewall is blocking it, how do I do that?

Right click on the firewall icon in your tray.Look for trusted programs or something similar,look for limewire there.If it's not there,look for exceptions and put limewire.exe there.

It would be better if you tell us what firewall you are using.

A quick but dangerous way would be to disable your firewall for a few moments and see if the program works with it off.  I DO NOT ADVISE LEAVING THE FIREWALL DISABLED, but then, if you're using limewire,  you're already taking chances.
