Question:

How do you choose the right snowboard?

I am new to snowboarding and am wondering how to choose the right snowboard, why does the length of the snowboard matter, what is all mountain, freeride etc.? how do you choose bindings and boots? If you know of any online resources on these subjects please refer me to them, anyways thanks for any valuable info, Have a good one.

  1. I agree with Bob b on size for the calculator. For boots all you basically need is your shoe size and try not to order online before trying them on, you might regret it! As for the bindings there are 3 sizes: small, medium, and large. You will probably need a large since by the looks of your profile your boot size is at least a 10. All moutain boards are typically longer and

    wider so they can handle terrain better and same with the freeride, just a different name. There are also park boards which are slimmer and have more pop for jumps and rails. A good source I found it by going to:

  2. The right snowboard is based on a combination of things.  You must take into account your height and shoe size (sometimes weight).  Then once you know the board will fit you, you must find a board developed for your riding preferences.
