For my essay, I used many quotations from the novel. All quotations came from same novel.

I was wondering how you would cite those quotations i embedded in the essay.

  1. I recently did this, so this might help.

When you quote something, for example " The red balloon flew away." after it you put parentheses ( name of author, page number). For example, (Williams, 36). Now if all you are citing is out of the same book, then you only put the author's name the first time. The rest just need to have the page number.
